Joon Shin - EiR

Mr. Shin is a Moore Fellow and an Inc. 500 award winning executive, who possesses continuous intellectual curiosity in the intersections of business, creativity, technology, and digital, with over twenty years of well-rounded and seasoned leadership of complex initiatives working with many diverse teams across several industries. He is currently a Co-Founder for Content of Characters, Board Member for Dosha Pops, Co-Founder for In The Lights PR; consults, mentors, and advises other startups and SME's; and has held senior leadership positions that demand: corporate governance, executive management, entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, program management, business transformation, product development, new product / service launches, business development, strategic positioning, technology management and enterprise risk management. His success is largely driven from his passion in understanding internal and external customers’ points of view, lines of businesses, and requirements in support of their goals and needs, which has resulted in millions of dollars of year-over-year realizations of benefits from business and technological innovations.


Dawn Leaks - EiR

Dawn Leaks is CEO of The Lioness Group, a mass media company dedicated to creating innovative ways to empower and engage women around the globe. Under her direction, the company’s popular digital magazine, Lioness, has grown exponentially, adding live and virtual events, coaching, mentoring, training and leadership programming to its offerings.

She was named the "Top Woman in Life/Business Coaching" by Western Mass Women Magazine in 2015 and that same year was honored with the BusinessWest 40 Under Forty award. Dawn is on the Board of Directors for New England Public Radio Inc. and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She is the former state director of communications at the American Red Cross where she managed public affairs for the organization after the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

Dawn is a powerful teacher and trainer, providing leadership development workshops and classes to corporations across Western Massachusetts. An Adjunct Professor at Hampshire College, she has also served as an adjunct professor at Bay Path University and has guest lectured at the UMass Amherst Isenberg School of Management as well as Smith College.


Roxanne Finn - EiR

Roxanne has been exploring the intersections of creativity, culture, and planet since 1994 as a scientist, teacher, educational administrator, permaculturist and parent. She has developed and implemented educational programming for students and institutions in Japan, Italy, and New York City. After seven years working for Hampshire College building and operating experiential, project-based design and entrepreneurship programs, she took time off to become a certified permaculture designer, sustainable entrepreneur and parent. She is back at Hampshire working for the Entrepreneurship and Design & Innovation for Social Change Programs and is dedicated to the advancement of women and other groups who face disproportionately large challenges on their entrepreneurial paths. She is also the co-manager of Paradise Lot, an experimental urban food forest garden containing 200 species of native and non-native plants located in Holyoke, Massachusetts.


Eric Crawley - EiR

Eric Crawley is a lecturer and entrepreneurial mentor, helping people start successful companies.  He also works as a consultant to in software and networking technologies.  He has over 30 years of experience in the networking and software industries as an engineer, manager, and executive in companies ranging from startups to multinational corporations.

Dorota Glosowitz - Leadership Team

Dorota helps diverse and underestimated startups take the next steps in their entrepreneurial journey by connecting them with the right resources and mentors at the right time. She’s dedicated to ensuring that startups and volunteers have an exceptional experience at VVM. She leads all aspects of VVM’s Startup Accelerator from design, through implementation and rigorous evaluation. With extensive prior experience in data management, Dorota is responsible for organization-wide integrity of data. Prior to VVM, Dorota worked in the for-profit sector and as a marketing professional.

 

Carly Forcade - Leadership Team

Carly Forcade is the Operations and Student Engagement Specialist for the Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship. She coordinates student facing programming for the BCE and works with diverse student ventures coaching and connecting them to various resources and opportunities! She is an award winning social entrepreneur and a previous participant in the 2017 VVM Collegiate Summer Accelerator Program. She loves learning about entrepreneurship and helping students grow their businesses to the next level!

She has a B.A in International Relations and Sociology from Mount Holyoke College and lives in Amherst with her partner and two bengal cats!

Stephen Brand - Leadership Team

Stephen Brand has taught entrepreneurship and worked closely with student entrepreneurs at UMass Amherst, Babson College, Case Western Reserve University, Olin College of Engineering and others. At Babson, he was co-director of the Summer Venture Program and collaborated with emerging entrepreneurs in Kuwait, Egypt and Saudia Arabia. Most recently, he was executive director of Global Learning and Development at Bay Path University. Brand holds a BA from Ohio State University, a master’s in interactive technology in education from Harvard University and a doctorate of management degree from Case Western Reserve University.

Kristin Leutz - Leadership Team

Kristin is the CEO of Valley Venture Mentors (VVM), a nonprofit offering mentorship, startup accelerators and a coworking space to build the innovation economy in Western Mass. She has ties to VVM from its earliest days when she served as a volunteer mentor, and she has a passion for entrepreneurship and its potential to change our world. Kristin has spent her career building philanthropic resources and organizational capacity in a variety of roles, raising nearly $100 million for local and global philanthropic causes.

She has her M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Springfield College, her B.A. from Colgate University and her yoga teacher certification from Kripalu. She lives in Amherst with her husband, two children, and a menagerie of pets.
